Accompanying Text to the EARTH MANIFESTO

1.The following comments on the EARTH MANIFESTO receive confirmation by many organizations, scientific institutes, projects and NGOs. Almost 8 billion people will live on Earth in 2020. This is an extremely high number when compared to various animal populations. You don't have to be a zoologist, your own observations will perfectly suffice: in the animal world, excess populations as a rule are not viable, they usually will collapse. Since humans undoubtedly are living beings, they will have to account for the fact that they will inadvertently face such a fate. This will not only hold due to shortage of food, which is a problem that is constantly worsening. The massive interference of human civilization in the biosphere leads to destruction of resources essential to humans, animals and plants alike. The mass extinction that people cause through their actions also affects themselves. It compares to the mass extinction at the end of the Permian period about 250 million years ago.Just…

Earth Manifesto

By the Earth I have been appointed to speak for her, and to deliver her message to the people. I am not authorized to conduct negotiations on Earth's demands with political or economic representatives of the people. The Earth physically consists of the planet with a liquid to viscous interior, a solid crust, which in the surface area is divided into different rock plates. She is part of the solar system. Over the course of billions of years, a wide variety of animal and plant life has developed on the continental, insular and oceanic rock plates. All these creatures are part of the Earth, they belong to her. Their habitat can be described as the biosphere, under water, on land and in the air. The Earth as a living being belongs to a different life form than the mostly carbon-based animals and plants. The Earth, her living beings as well as the other planets and the sun communicate with each other. Their channels of communication are just as hidden from the people to whom I speak as …

Letter to Humans

I am the home to billions and billions of creatures. I am the Earth, and all these creatures living in my oceans, on my land surface and in the air belong to me, they are parts of my physical and spiritual body. We are an entity, a complex entity. We live in a peaceful way, we communicate, we develop each other and ourselves. In millions of years we altered, new creatures form out in the life zones of my surface.
One of these species is a creature walking on two legs, has two gifted hands and a gifted brain. Human beings have been part of life, took part in natural communication and live peacefully. Some thousand years ago some groups of humans invented a new lifestyle. They became farmers, they founded towns, they constructed a hierarchic society with priests and kings at the top. They founded armed forces to wage war on their neighbours. They conquered their small world, they founded reichs and empires. These warrior humans started to kill all peaceful humans, only a small amount is l…

Earth Day

The face of the Earth shows in the butterfly, in the caterpillar, in the face of the gray heron and the baboon, the trout and the rattlesnake. But also in the oaks, the rhubarb bushes and the grasses and daisies. It is the volcanic lake in the Eifel, the ridge on the Weser with its rabbits and lynxes, the semi-desert with its cacti.

But the blank faces of those who two legged creatures, chatty and busy, are not associated with the Earth. They delude themselves into thinking they were the owners of the Earth, the owners of billions of chickens, pigs, steel and nuclear power plants, high-rise buildings and halls and lunar landscapes. They have been waging war on each other for 12,000 years: Who will be the winner? (if there should ever be one) Who will be the superstar? My earth day, states the Earth, will be the day when all these slave owners are gone for good.
